There is no shortage of restaurant choices in Disney World, that’s for sure. There are different themed restaurants in the theme parks, but if you are looking to spend the night outside of the parks there are plenty of choices too.
Whether you are looking for a fun restaurant or a romantic restaurant you will be able to find something at either the resorts or in Disney Springs. Between the resorts, the BoardWalk area, and Disney Springs there are over 60 table service options to choose from.
Here are some restaurant suggestions if you are looking for a date night while in Disney World. I’ve separated them into fun restaurants, where the atmosphere might not be as quiet or calm, but it has a fun theme, and romantic restaurants, if you are looking for a quieter and more sophisticated atmosphere.
Fun Date Night Restaurants
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
Located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, this is a fun and brightly colored restaurant that’s themed after an Atlantic seashore boardwalk-style ice cream shop from days past. Not only can you get ice cream here, but they also serve burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads. If you want a challenge, you can skip the meal and just order the “Kitchen Sink,” though the description says it serves four. They also serve adult hard floats and beverages.
The Edison
This is one of the newest restaurants in Disney Springs. It’s designed to look like an electric company from the 1920s, so it has quite a bit of character. On the menu you will find things like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a selection of desserts. They also have some unique appetizers, like the “DB ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon.'” After 10 pm this restaurant is 21 and over only and there is nightly entertainment (DJs, live cabaret, aerialists, contortionists, and more).
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
This is a really fun dinner show that takes place at Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness. The food is served family style and on the menu nightly is fried chicken, ribs, corn, baked beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread (it’s so good!), and strawberry shortcake. While you dine, the Pioneer Hall Players put on a vaudeville-style comedy act. There’s a reason this show has lasted so long, it’s very funny and the cast is fantastic!
Jock Linsey’s Hangar Bar
This fun lounge is located in Disney Springs and is themed to look like a 1940s hangar that was once home to Jock Linsey, Indiana Jones’ pilot. The aviation ambience is shown throughout the lounge with different artifacts like spare airplane parts, salvaged equipment, and different mementos Jock collected over the years. On the menu guests will find different appetizers like Snakebite Sliders, Satipo’s Empanadas, Air Pirate’s Pretzels, and more. Alcoholic drinks are, of course, on the menu as well. The lounge even has some signature non-alcoholic cocktails: Antidote, Poisonless Dart, Teddy’s Tea, and Diving Bell.
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto
This tropical tiki bar is located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and has become a popular spot to enjoy a drink. The name comes from the “head” salesman from the end of the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. The lounge has a lot of detail, so make sure to check out all the artifacts and treasures that are around the lounge. On the menu guests will find a selection of appetizers, non-alcoholic drinks, beer, and wine. They also have quite a few specialty cocktails like the Polynesian Pearl, Uh-Oa!, Nautilus, Castaway Crush, and more. A bunch of the specialty cocktails come with souvenir cups too!
Romantic Date Night Restaurants
California Grill
This is a great spot to go for a romantic dinner with a view. Located on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, California Grill has floor-to-ceiling windows giving guests beautiful views of Magic Kingdom. Plus, when it’s time for fireworks you can either stay at your table or take advantage of the observation deck. The narration from Happily Ever After is piped in for both the deck and the restaurant. On the menu guests will find artisanal pizzas, a charcuterie selection, hand-rolled sushi, soups, salads, a selection of appetizers, seafood, steak, chicken, a selection of desserts, and more.
Flying Fish
Located on Disney’s BoardWalk, this restaurant was recently redesigned and the new design is perfect for a romantic night out. The restaurant has an inviting and luxurious feel with deep colors throughout and beautiful glass fish hanging from the ceiling. On the menu are things like Kurobuata Pork Belly, Canadian Blue Mussels, Pumpkin Swordfish, Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Mignon, lamb, as well as some Chef’s Specialties, and a selection of desserts.
Morimoto Asia
This modern “Pan-Asian” style restaurant is located in Disney Springs and is owned by Japanese master chef Masaharu Morimoto. The restaurant has exhibition kitchens, which lets guests look behind the scenes. It is also 2-stories with beautiful 20-foot-long chandeliers. The second floor has a sushi bar and a lounge with a separate entrance. Sushi, sashimi, small plates, dim sum, chicken, steak, noodles and rice, seafood, a selection of desserts, and more make up the menu. Light night dining is also available with a limited menu.
Victoria and Albert’s
This is the ultimate in date night dining, because children are not allowed at this restaurant at any time. Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort there are three choices guests can book: The Dining Room, Queen Victoria’s Room (only accommodates 8 guests for a 10-course dinner), the Chef’s Table (13-course up-close culinary experience with Chef Scott Hunnel). Between the beautiful decor and the multi-course meals with deliciously prepared food, there’s a reason why this restaurant is on the bucket list for many Disney fans.
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, this restaurant has some of the best steaks on property (in my opinion anyway). The New England theme of this restaurant includes a lot of wood and nautical decor in the dining room. The menu has a good selection of steaks to choose from, as well as a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, cheeses, chicken, seafood, desserts, and more. If you are by one of the windows you might be able to catch some of the higher fireworks from Illuminations, the fireworks show at Epcot.
There are a lot of dining options in Disney World, including some good spots for date nights. My husband and I usually enjoy going somewhere that we wouldn’t bring the kids. However, it’s fun to go somewhere a little low key sometimes too. Hopefully these selections help you when looking for a date night spot!
