The Minnie Van service has been available to guests staying on Disney World property for a little bit now. It started as service around Disney World property, but now includes Orlando International Airport. However, there is a bigger fee for this option.
The announcement came earlier today that Disney would now be offering this option to book. So, I decided to call and see about booking it for my upcoming trip. I was the first person this Cast Member spoke too about it, so we were learning the details together. He was very helpful though!
While the Minnie Van service around Disney World property can be scheduled through the Lyft app, the Minnie Van transportation for the airport needs to be scheduled over the phone. Another difference is the price. Around property the cost is $25 and the airport service is $150 (per ride, not per passenger). That $150 gets you a comfortable, private ride to your Disney World Resort hotel. It’s not a small chunk of change, so if you want to do it, but are nervous about the cost, I would decide which direction would be more helpful for you. I picked going from the airport to the resort.
Here are some things I learned while talking to the Cast Member today:
- The cost is $150 per ride for up to six passengers.
- Pick-up is at baggage claim (he assumed it means baggage claim for the airline you fly in on, which makes sense, but it did not specify in the notes).
- Cancellation for a full refund is one day before the scheduled pick-up. Since this is a new service I would recommend making sure of the refund policy if you call to book a Minnie Van.
- Pick-up time to go back to the airport is 2 hours for domestic flights (international flights will pick up farther out, but he did not specify how much).
- According to the Cast Member I spoke with, your luggage can be picked up by Magical Express if you are taking the Minnie Van. You will still need to call for the tags for your bags from Magical Express though, because they need those yellow tags to identify the bags. Again, I would double check this if you book a Minnie Van from the airport. I asked a couple of times to make sure I was understanding correctly, but it’s a new service and it’s always best to double check with new services.
- They can provide up to 3 car seats for the Minnie Van.
- All guests must be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel in order to book this transportation.
Other Info:
- There are ADA accessible vehicles available, should anyone in your party need one.
- Operating Hours:
- Flight Arrivals: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Flight Departures: 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.
- Each Minnie Van can fit up to eight medium-sized suitcases.
The Cast Member told me that the Minnie Van team would reach out if they have any questions and should be sending me some info. I received the following email a few hours after I booked the Minnie Van transportation. I removed my travel date, but when you get an email it will show your pick-up date. The email came from “WDW Ride Service Specialists.”

Also, just a heads up that as of right now there are no discounts available for this transportation. I asked if there was a Passholder discount and he said at this time there are no discounts at all for this service. Which is fine, I’m just proud that I remembered to ask!

We used the Minnie Van option as we had a split stay this past Christmas when we were there. We decided to try it and at that time it was $20. Our very pleasant driver took us from the GF to AKL. When we arrived at AKL he said to us go ahead and check in and I will wait for you and take you to HS which is the park we were heading to that day. ( no extra cost) We couldn’t believe it! The driver drove us right up to the closest lot at HS and we were only steps away from the entrance as they get prime parking! The one thing was though… we could only fit our carry on suitcases in the van and our bulkier suitcases travelled from GF to AKL by the luggage transportation services which was no big deal at all! The service is awesome and the Minnie vans are spotless!
With all this being said, I think that a Minnie Van from the airport sounds like a wonderful option! Something to think about when we visit in August 2019! However there is also something magical about stepping on to the magical express and the cartoons and trivia they have… I just love it all…. I never thought that 44 years old I would fall this deeply in love with Disney and all they have to offer ….. but alas I have! It’s on my mind daily! Have a great day Liz and again thanks for the post!❤️
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Minnie Van service! The Cast Members are awesome and so helpful. 🙂
I agree about the Magical Express. I’m interested to see if I miss taking the Magical Express when I arrive for my next trip.
