My friend, Maureen, is in Disney World this week and was kind enough to send some pictures of the gingerbread displays Disney puts up at this time of year. The Contemporary Resort and the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are the two resorts where she saw displays up.
The gingerbread display at the Contemporary Resort is up and finished. It’s Cinderella Castle with Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the Fairy Godmother standing in front of the castle. The display is designed after the Mary Blair art that is in the Contemporary Resort. Another cool thing that Disney does is they put the amount of ingredients used. While this may not sound too interesting at first, keep in mind these displays are huge, and in turn so are the ingredient lists. For instance, 428 eggs were used to make the Cinderella Castle gingerbread display. That’s a lot of eggs from a lot of chickens.
Over at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa the Gingerbread House that goes up every year looks like it is almost complete. Maureen also sent a picture of the house. This is a favorite display to visit, because it’s so detailed and impressive. Plus, there is a window in it where guests can by holiday goodies, including gingerbread shingles like the ones on the roof of the house.
Maureen also snapped a picture of some of the signs that were around the construction of the house. I love the little Disney details, even on the “Wet Paint” signs. So cute!
These are just a couple of the gingerbread displays that are shown at some of the hotels. The rest should be up soon too, if they are not up already. Disney is definitely in holiday mode and those decorations make traveling to Disney World a little extra magical this time of year.
Thanks again to Maureen for sharing the pictures!
Have you seen any of the gingerbread displays? What’s your favorite?
Thanks for reading!
