The Disney Skyliner has had an accident and now the gondolas are being evacuated. Guests posting on Twitter have said that they have been stuck on the Skyliner for a couple of hours.
Disney has started evacuating people, but they can only evacuate a couple of people at a time, so this is going to take while. The accident appears to have happened at the Riviera station with some gondolas piling up on each other. I haven’t heard reports of any injuries, so that’s good.
Guests have been getting updates through social media, so at least they know what is going on. Hopefully, the accident site will be fixed soon and they can get the system working again by tomorrow, but we’ll see.
The Disney Skyliner has been open for barely a week at this point. Disney had tested the gondola system for months and months, so this is a bit of a set back. Disney has not released a statement on the accident yet, but I’ll update when they do.
