Today there was a big announcement regarding Cinderella Castle. The park icon of Magic Kingdom will be getting a makeover.
In the picture below that Disney posted you can see the castle will be getting some gold embellishments, as well as changing the color of the top half to pink. It looks like the turrets will be given a darker coat of blue too, so the whole castle will be brightened up a bit with this makeover.
The work on the castle is expected to begin in the coming weeks and continue through the summer. So if you are traveling to Disney World soon keep that in mind when planning castle pictures. Disney did note that the castle stage shows will still continue while the makeover is going on, so that’s good to know.

I’ll have to see it in person before making my mind up. We are taking my niece and nephew with us (me, my wife, son, and daughter) for our annual trip in May. It is their first time going, so I hope the work doesn’t mess up castle pics. I really wish this was not starting till later, but I’m sure it will look great when it is done. As long as it doesn’t look like a cake ever again!

Actually that looks very nice. Hope it is done by summer 2021 because we are coming to help Magic Kingdom/Disney World celebrate their 50th Anniversary! (Lol, it give me a year or so to find my 25th Anniversary teeshirts!)
