Walt Disney World has been updating their page with more information for guests who are traveling to Disney World soon. Transportation, final payments, annual passes, and special events that happen outside of the parks are the latest updates.
Annual Passes
In addition to extending the number of days (same number the parks are closed) on Annual Passes, Disney has added that passes with renewal windows ending during the closure period will be given an extension of time to renew. Also, for those on the monthly payment plan those payments will continue as scheduled.
If you don’t see the extended dates on your Annual Pass right now, don’t worry. Disney said these dates will show over the coming weeks, so give it time to update.
Regarding the blockout and admission calendars online Disney has said that these will not be updated during the closure period. They as that guests check the update page regularly for the most updated information.
Resorts
Disney has added that while they will waive all Disney imposed change and cancellation fees for reservations with check-in dates during the closure period and up and through June 30, 2020, the refunds will be less any cancellation fees imposed by 3rd-party suppliers. These include things like airlines, rental cars, and 3rd-party hotels as well as non-refundable products like travel protection plans.
Transportation
During the parks closure Disney buses will still operate. Guests can take Disney buses to and from Disney Springs and buses will also operate between select Disney Resort hotels as needed.
Dining & Other Experiences
Additions to this section include Tables in Wonderland memberships and experiences that happen outside the parks. Disney has stated that all active Tables in Wonderland members will be extended by the number of days the parks are closed.
In response to questions about experiences outside the parks, like fireworks cruises, Disney has said that these too will stop operation while the parks are closed. Guests who have paid for these experiences will be notified directly of the cancellations and automatically issued refunds.
Also, final payment due dates are being extended. So if you have a final payment coming up, Disney won’t cancel if you want to hold off paying. When you call their phone lines the recording specifically says that if you are calling to make a payment, including a final payment, to please note that due dates will be extended and to call back at a later time.
If you are calling today about a trip that happens during the closure, please keep in mind that the wait times will be long. This whole situation is unprecedented for Disney, so the cast members are doing the best they can and trying to help as quickly as they can.
