Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. We received some really good guesses, but only a few people were able to pinpoint the location.
The doors in the above picture are located in the Morocco pavilion in Epcot. Specifically, they are the doors at “Race Against the Sun: Ancient Technique to Modern Competition”, an exhibit that opened in November 2019. The exhibit gives guests a look at two modern-day competitions, Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles). Another part of the exhibit shows the rich history of the ancient inhabitants of the Sahara, the Berbers.
Exhibits Include:
- A lifelike diorama of Marathon of the Sands with race gear and trophies from Moroccan competitors.
- An interactive photo opportunity highlighting Rally fo the Gazelles, an off-road, all woman desert rally.
Both of the above competitions take place in the Sahara Desert.
Other Experiences in the Morocco Pavilion:
- Dining
- Restaurant Marrakesh
- Spice Road Table
- Tangierine Cafe
- Shopping
- The Brass Bazaar
- Casablanca Carpets
- Marketplace in the Medina
- Souk-al-Magreb
- Tangier Traders
- Experiences
- Meet Princess Jasmine
- Kidcot Fun Stops
- Gallery of Arts and History
Plus, there are some great picture opportunities in this pavilion. The fountain is beautiful and makes a nice backdrop for pictures.
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to those that knew where the doors are located! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up tomorrow!
Have you visited the Morocco pavilion?
