Disney Springs opened yesterday to minimized crowds, however the rest of the Disney World Resort remained closed. That fact was reinforced today as guests with reservations booked for the second week of June received cancellation notifications.
Unfortunately, guests with reservations during the week of June 7-13, 2020 will now have to reschedule their trips. This is true for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Just like the previous week’s cancellations, Disney World isn’t offering the free dining package to guests who need to reschedule. However, Disneyland does have an offer for guests that need to reschedule, $50 per night resort credit for stays between July 1 and December 31, 2020. There is also a discount offer of up to 35% off on most nights July 1 – October 3, 2020. The details for both Disney World and Disneyland cancellations are shown in the sample letters that Disney shared.

Disney has not yet hinted at an opening date for either of the resorts, but I’ll post an update as soon as they make an official announcement.
Have you had to reschedule your trip due to the resort closures?
Thanks for reading!

Thank you for your continuing Disney info
You’re welcome! 🙂
Now that Universal stated they will open by June 5th for everyone, I am hoping Disney will be able to open by mid June. That hopefully gives things more time to get back to normal before we head down in late September!
Hello Liz thanks again for all your wonderful information.Well I’m scheduled to go to Disney July 2 through the 7 but I’m thinking about canceling im a DVC member only issue is im 65 and type 2 diabetic .Well I think it might be closed and I really don’t know there policy as to how early I have to cancel. If you have any information we always appreciate it.Disney Dennis.
Hi Dennis! I’m not sure how Disney is handling DVC stays, but I know people who have packages booked can cancel up to 7 days in advance. I would definitely give DVC a call and see if they are relaxing the cancellation policies like they are doing for package bookings. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t be flexible with it, given what’s going on.
