Some of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be opening soon and many have wondered what to expect when they do. To help with that Disney recently released more information about the cleaning procedures that will happen around the resorts and in your room.
Disney has already said that they will enhance their cleaning procedures, but they’ve expanded on that with this new information. They’ve noted that they will be cleaning areas that are considered “high traffic” more often. These areas include: elevators, escalators, handrails, benches, tables, handles, restrooms, and more. In addition they have added hand sanitizer locations across Disney property, which includes the resort hotels.
Check out the video Disney shared about that includes these enhanced cleaning measures.

Disney explained that each room will be getting an enhanced cleaning before guests checkin, which includes cleaning and wrapping some items before use (like remote controls). Then, throughout their stay, a light cleaning service will be offered every other day. This light service includes removal of trash and more towels and amenities. To help prepare for these enhanced cleaning measures, Disney’s housekeeping staff will get training for each hotel and each guest room. This includes updated practices for cleaning tools and managing in-room amenities, linens, luggage, and more.
There are some ways Disney is asking guests to help:
- Washing hands frequently with soap and water.
- Following physical distancing and other guidelines while visiting Disney World.
- Rescheduling trips if someone in the travel party feels ill or are subjected to quarantine or other travel restrictions.
Disney’s goal is to keep guests and cast member safe and healthy, which is appreciated. The experience will definitely be different from other Disney trips, but hopefully Disney will be able to keep guests feeling the magic during these times.
Are you planning to visit Disney World any time soon?
