Not long ago Disney made the announcement that Tusker House in Animal Kingdom would be reopening on June 20. Today, Disney has added to that announcement with a couple more reopening dates and a new ice cream shop!
‘Ohana
One popular restaurant many people have been waiting to reopen is ‘Ohana. Located at the Polynesian Village Resort, their food and atmosphere is a favorite among guests. It’s been closed for a while and many of us have been waiting to return to this dining location. Well, starting June 10 guests can book reservations for July 9 and beyond.
‘Ohana serves both breakfast and dinner as family-style. So each table gets big plates of a variety of food to share. It’s important to note that as of right now there will not be any characters at the breakfast, but there will be a strolling musician during dinner.
For breakfast, guests can enjoy the pineapple-coconut breakfast bread, Stitch and Mickey Mouse waffles, and a skillet that has a selection of ham, sausage, and breakfast potatoes. During dinner, guests will also get a variety of food. Grilled beef steak, roasted chicken, sausage, and island shrimp casserole are served with fried rice and roasted broccolini. Don’t worry, the pot stickers, crispy soy chicken wings, and ‘Ohana’s signature bread pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream are still part of the dinner offering. So you definitely don’t walk away hungry from ‘Ohana!
Reopening: July 9
Booking Availability Begins: June 10
Sebastian’s Bistro
Sebastian’s Bistro can be found at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and serves food with Latin and Caribbean flavors. This location serves dinner and when it reopens dinner will be served family-style. The dinner will include buttery house-baked pull-apart rolls, and a platter with oven-roasted citrus chicken, slow-cooked mojo pork with mango sambal, and grilled flank steak with mojito relish. The platter, called the Taste of the Caribbean, comes with cilantro rice and beans, vegetable curry, and grilled broccolini. In addition to what comes on the platter, guests can add coconut shrimp for an additional cost. Coconut-pineapple bread pudding is also served at the end of the meal as dessert for the table.
Sebastian’s Bistro will start taking walk-ins for dinner on June 24 through July 4, so no reservations will be taken before then. Booking availability for this location begins on June 10 for reservations starting July 5 and beyond.
BoardWalk Ice Cream Shop
Located on Disney’s BoardWalk, this new ice cream shop is open now and is in the former spot occupied by Ample Hills Creamery. Guests can get scoops and sundaes to go at this sweet shop. Try things like a sundae plus brownie or a strawberry splash shortcake a la mode and the kids will probably want to get the Mickey Mouse Sundae. You can take your sweet treat, find a bench outside, and enjoy your ice cream while enjoying the views around Crescent Lake.
