Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. I’m really impressed with those of you who were able to correctly identify exactly where the carpet is located.
Congratulations to Gregg, Abbie, Lori, Judy, Robbie, and Charlie, who all knew the carpet can be found at the Contemporary Resort. Specifically, it’s the carpet that is by the monorail station in the hotel. The monorail stop at this hotel is actually inside, which is a cool feature of the Contemporary. Shaped in an a-frame design, this hotel is one of two of the original hotels that opened with Disney World on October 1, 1971. Not only is the design unique from other buildings around it, but it also has the added feature of having the monorail run right through the hotel. The fact that the monorail runs through the hotel is a draw for a lot of guests.
One of Disney’s more popular restaurants is located in this area, as well. Guests who eat at Chef Mickey’s will not only get to see some of the classic characters in chef costumes, but they’ll also see the monorail running by as they eat. At this time, according to Disney’s website, Chef Mickey’s is an all-you-care-to-enjoy family style dining option. So while the traditional buffet has not returned, guests can still enjoy as much of the food as they like. As breakfast and dinner go on, Mickey and his pals will make their way around the dining room. It’s a cute experience, but it’s hard to get reservations for it. If there is nothing available on the day your dining reservation window opens, definitely keep trying. We’ve had things open up the night before the reservation day. So either a lot of people cancel or Disney releases more reservations the night before.
Congratulations again to everyone who knew where to find the carpet and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon.
What’s your favorite thing to do at the Contemporary Resort?
Thanks for reading!

Where was I last week? I missed this and I knew the answer. We’ve stayed at the Contemporary many times and is still our favorite.
