This week’s Snackshot brings us to Hollywood Studios.
The Hollywood Brown Derby is located in the Hollywood Boulevard section of Hollywood Studios. This table service restaurant is themed after the original Brown Derby in California and the decor includes caricatures of celebrities, which was a tradition in the original restaurant. The inside is impressive with large chandeliers and big arch ways, which makes you feel like you are dining in an upscale restaurant.
Outside of the restaurant is the lounge. Unlike the restaurant, the lounge does not take reservations and operates with a walk up list. If there isn’t a long wait, I recommend stopping here for a bite. It’s a great spot to sit and relax with views of the park. There are different size tables to accommodate different size groups, so even if you have a larger group they’ll be able to seat you. It’s a good size lounge with a fair amounts of tables, so wait times usually aren’t terrible.
The shrimp cocktail in the picture is one of the appetizers on the menu. It may not look like much, but if you like shrimp, I definitely recommend trying this. The shrimp were chilled perfectly, as was the plate they were served on. The shrimp comes with cocktail sauce, shaved fennel, and cucumbers. While the cost of this dish may seem a bit steep at $17 for four shrimp, it’s honestly in line with Disney pricing these days. I will say that they are decent sized shrimp and they were really good, so I’d definitely order these again.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s Saturday Snackshot! Have you been to the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge?
