Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses, but three people knew where to find the ship.
Congratulations to Caroline, Michale, and Kat, who all knew the ship can be found at Columbia Harbour House. This quick service location is located in the Liberty Square section of Magic Kingdom and has a maritime theme. It’s not hard to tell the theme when you look around the restaurant. There are plenty of maritime artifacts that decorate Columbia Harbour House and one of those items is the ship in the above picture. That ship can be seen from both levels of the restaurant, as it is above the food ordering area. Upstairs there’s a giant wheel that would be used to steer a ship, as well as other ship models and pictures. Downstairs is an old diving helmet, a carved figure that you would see on the front of a ship, and other items related to the maritime theme. There’s quite a bit to see here, so after you finish eating it can be interesting to take a stroll around and look at all the decorations.
As for the food, while it is seafood heavy, they do have chicken strips, salad, and a plant-based crab cake sandwich for those that may not be interested in seafood. Other items on the menu include a lobster roll (with mayonnaise, not butter), shrimp boil, grilled shrimp skewer, grilled salmon, trio platter (fried seafood platter), fish sandwich, clam chowder, hushpuppies, and more. I tried the grilled shrimp skewer the last time I was there and got a side of green beans. For a quick service meal, I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. The shrimp was really good and not overcooked and the green beans still had a little bit of a crisp to them. I was going to try the lobster roll, but I prefer the lobster rolls with just butter, no mayo or other things mixed in. However, if you like your lobster roll with mayo I would give it a try. From what I could see it looked like a generous portion.
