Disney Announces the Return of the Disney Dining Plan

There’s been one thing fans of Disney World have been wondering about for a while now. When will the Disney Dining Plan return. While it looked like it wouldn’t be returning, due to the lack of communication about it, Disney surprised everyone today saying that it will return in 2024!

Beginning with stays on January 9, 2024 guests can add the dining plan to their Walt Disney World packages. The packages include a Disney Resort hotel stay and theme park tickets. Reservations for 2024 packages will open on May 31, 2023.

Like everything that has returned after the pandemic, there does seem to be a change to the plans. In the past, Disney offered 3 different tiers for the Dining Plan, but now it looks like it’s down to two options. At least it’s coming back though. The tier that isn’t coming back, at least not right now, is the Deluxe Dining Plan which included three meals of any type (quick service or table service). Instead, only the Quick Service Dining Plan and the Disney Dining Plan will be returning. Let’s get a refresher on what is included with each plan.

Quick Service Dining Plan

• 2 Quick-Service meals per night per night of stay
• 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of stay
• 1 Resort refillable drink mug
• Beverages are included with the meals, so that would not count towards your snack/nonalcoholic drink credit for the day

Dining Plan

• 1 Table -Service meal per night of stay
• 1 Quick-Service meal per night of stay
• 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of stay
• 1 Resort refillable drink mug
• Beverages are included with the meals, so that would not count towards your snack/nonalcoholic drink credit for the day

Other Information

• As stated above, beverages are included with the meals and guests 21+, with valid ID, may substitute beer, wine, and cocktails.
• Guests ages 3-9 must order from the children’s menu, where available.
• Plans are purchased for the entire length of stay.
• Meals expire at midnight on day of checkout.
• Dining plans can be added to reservations that begin on January 9, 2024 and beyond.
• Reservations to book 2024 packages will open on May 31, 2023.
