During our latest trip to Disney World we ended up bringing our dog with us. Since we were not staying at one of the Disney World Resorts that allows dogs, we needed to find him a place to stay, and that’s how I came across Best Friends Pet Hotel.
This business is not owned by Disney, but it is on Disney property. The location is right across the street from Port Orleans Riverside and it’s pretty easy to find. The building is big and you definitely can’t miss the sign for the pet hotel. We had never used their services before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I would absolutely book our dog here for another stay anytime!
Driving up to the building you will notice that the building has big sketches of Disney dogs and cats on the outside, as well as what looks like the fronts of dog houses. It’s very cute and definitely gives you that fun Disney vibe. Once you enter the building you will see the check-in area for your pet, which is located in a large room that also has pet toys, food, and other pet supplies should you need any. A cute touch in this area is a picture frame on the floor with Best Friends Pet Hotel printed on it. So it’s a cute photo opportunity for your pet (if they’ll sit still long enough for a picture, that is).
Check in was very easy and the gentleman that helped us was so friendly. He explained what was included with the space we booked for our dog and answered any questions we had. There are grooming add-ons that guests can add to their pet’s stay and those will be paid for at pickup. We choose to have his nails clipped and to have his teeth brushed.
There are different options of rooms you can book for your pet. We opted for a vacation villa for him, which includes a patio for the pet to do their business, a TV that stays on for company (Luca was playing when we dropped him off), two sleeping areas, and a webcam so we could check in on him whenever we wanted. The webcam does get turned off twice a day for cleaning purposes, but other than that we could checkin whenever. Also included in his stay was a choice of playtime with a staff member once a day or a walk and explore on the walking trail. Our dog loves walks, so we opted for the walk and explore.

In addition to cats and dogs, Best Friend Pet Hotel takes almost any other animal for boarding as well. When we dropped our dog off there was a kangaroo staying there! One of the staff members brought us over so that the kids could see the kangaroo and he was adorable. It was also clear when hearing the staff members talk about the animals how much they care for the animals that stay there. So that definitely helped us feel more comfortable about leaving him there for a few nights.
As I mentioned above, there are grooming options you can add on to your pets stay, but that’s not all. If your pet does not have a playtime or a walk and explore included with their stay you can add that on for them for an added cost. There are other extras that you can inquire about when booking your pet here as well. They also have a transport available for certain Disney World hotels. This picture was taken in July 2024, so there is always a possibility this information has changed or will change in the future.
Looking to board your dog for the day, but not overnight? They can help with that too with their doggy daycare. They have play areas for the pets to play, including a nice outdoor area. It’s a nice big space for them to run around and I love the Pluto topiary.
Keep in mind, if you are booking your pet here they will need to be up on their vaccinations. There are different vaccination requirement lists for boarding and doggy daycare, which you can see on the website. For more information, or to book your pet’s stay, you can call (407) 209-3126.
Overall, we were very impressed with Best Friends Pet Hotel and would absolutely book our dog here again. The accommodations were nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was nice to know that he was not far from us if we wanted to stop in and visit. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment!
