Since July, guests staying at the Walt Disney World Resort have had the option of purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or the Single Pass. Now Disney is adding a third option. However, when this option begins it will only be available for Deluxe Resort hotel guests for the time being.
The new option is called Lightning Lane Premier Pass and will be available beginning on October 30. The Multi Pass and Single Pass options will also still be available, so those are not going away, as of right now anyway. Guests who purchase the Premier Pass will have access to the same rides that are on the Multi Pass and Single Pass lists, the only difference is they will not have to book return times. The pricing is for one park per day and it’s per pass. So, if you have Park Hopper tickets you will only be able to use the Premier Pass in one of the parks you visit, not multiple parks.
What is Included with the Lightning Lane Premier Pass
- One entrance per ride on the Lightning Lane list for that park, including the Single Pass rides.
- Downloads to Disney PhotoPass pictures and videos from attractions that offer ride photos for that day.
- Access to Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
- No need to book return times for rides, just walk into the Lightning Lane queue.
Pricing Information
Much like the Multi Pass and Single Pass options, the Premier Pass will vary depending on the date and theme park. The price range Disney has given runs from $129 to $449 per pass and plus tax, so it’s definitely not inexpensive. Universal has a similar pass, but the difference with that pass is that it’s included for guests who are staying at one of their Signature Collection hotels (those are Universal’s Deluxe level hotels), which is a really nice perk. As of right now, Disney is only rolling this option out to deluxe level guests, so it doesn’t seem like there is a plan to include it in a Deluxe Resort stay at this time.
Hotels Included for Launch Day on October 30
- Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel Guests
- Disney Deluxe Villa Resort Hotel Guests
- Swan and Dolphin Hotels
- Shades of Green Resort
Guests must have a valid theme park ticket to use the Premier Pass. For eligible guests, prices for the Premier Pass will show in their My Disney Experience account. This account is where guests can purchase and modify the passes. The pricing will show once the passes are open for purchasing. There will be a very limited amount of passes available for purchase when this option is available on October 30. The Premier Pass can be purchased up to seven days before the check-in date starting at 7 a.m. EST.
