Throwback Thursday is always fun. I love looking back at different things and getting nostalgic. So I thought I would do a throwback post for today and it didn’t take me long to figure out where I wanted to throwback to.
Before New Fantasyland, that area was called Mickey’s Toontown Fair. I loved this area! You got to see Mickey and Minnie’s houses, Donald’s boat, and Pete’s Garage, to name a few. Minnie’s house was great. The queue line actually went through her house and it was adorable!
The Imagineers did an amazing job with her house. The details were fantastic. From her sitting area to the cake rising in her oven, it was always fun to visit Minnie’s house. I loved her over-sized radio and all the pictures on the wall. It honestly did feel like Minnie Mouse lived in that house. Once you made your way through the queue line you were in Minnie’s backyard and were able to meet her in her gazebo. Such a great attraction!
Pete’s Garage was fun too. It was the restroom area and it’s pretty cool how much detail they put into a restroom. It might not have been quite as nice as the Tangled restrooms, but it was fun.
I love New Fantasyland and all the new attractions there, but I do miss Mickey’s Toontown Fair. There were so many fun touches in the area. Plus, it was a nice feature that guests could actually see Mickey’s house and Minnie’s house. I know I’m not alone in missing this fun area. I know in order for things to change, things need to change, but it’s still fun to go back and reminisce about the lost attractions of Disney World.
Did you get a chance to visit this fun area before it closed?
Thanks for reading!

We were just going through our Disney album and my daughter talked about how fun Minnie’s house was. That was 10 years ago. She loved to look at all the food that was in the fridge!
Awwww Memories like that are so wonderful 🙂
My Grandchildren were small on their first Disney visit, over ten years ago, and they really enjoyed this area too! Happy memories in scrapbooks! Excited and looking forward to our visit in June.
