Today’s Picture of the Day comes from Animal Kingdom.
I know some people think that Animal Kingdom is just a big zoo, but there really is so much more to it. Between the shows, the dining experiences, the animals, and the activities it’s a really fun park, but often overlooked or thought of as a half-day park.
One of the fun activities they offer is the Wilderness Explorers badge collecting activity. The kids all love doing this activity. There are over 30 badges to collect, so you can spend an entire day just visiting these different stops. There are challenges at each stop that the kids need to complete to get the badge and you can find the stops easily by looking for the sign that is in today’s Picture of the Day.
The badges go in a booklet that you can find at headquarters (on the bridge between the Oasis and Discovery Island) or at any of the Wilderness Explorers stops in Africa, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Asia, and Dinoland U.S.A. Once you have the booklet you can start the fun!
When you reach a stop with the Wilderness Explorers sign there will be an activity in the booklet for the child to complete. Once complete they get their badge (sticker) to put in the space at the top of the page. Our kids got so excited each time they earned a badge. Plus, it’s a great activity the whole family can enjoy together.
