Today’s Picture of the Day takes us to the Magic Kingdom on Main Street U.S.A.
This picture was taken right after the park opened at 8 a.m., which is why there are so few people in the picture. The first couple of hours after the park opens are so nice, because there are not a lot of people in the park, so it’s easier to get pictures like this.
The castle is one of the best known symbols for Disney World. It’s the icon for Magic Kingdom and a very popular picture spot. There are multiple spots along Main Street U.S.A. where you can have your picture taken by a cast member and the castle is the backdrop of your picture.
You can even eat inside the castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table. We had breakfast there and it was a pretty amazing experience dining in the castle. The restaurant definitely gives you a royal feeling and the kids get to meet five princesses. Plus, the girls get wands, the boys get swords and they also give out wishing stars. Our kids still play with their fun souvenirs from the restaurant.
The horse-drawn street car is part of the Main Street Transportation Company. These vehicles will take guests on a one-way trip from one end of Main Street U.S.A to the other. You can find the pickup points in Town Square and in central plaza by Cinderella Castle.
Here are the different vehicles you will see:
- Horse-drawn Street Car (trolley pulled by a horse)
- Jitney (car with no roof)
- Fire Engine (a replica of the earliest fire trucks)
- Omnius (a open-air 2 story bus)
The vehicles are fun to see and fun to ride. If you’re lucky, you might have the Dapper Dans tagging along on your ride. When it’s raining you can catch the Rainy Day Parade. Cast member dressed in rain coats and boots sing and dance up and down Main Street U.S.A. and they are joined by the Main Street vehicles which are carrying some popular Disney characters.

Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle are always some good photo opportunities. You can get some fun pictures riding on the Main Street vehicles too.
