By this time, most people know that Pandora – The World of Avatar is opening in Animal Kingdom on May 27. With the opening will come more attractions, a restaurant, a retail shop, and more.
The retail shop, Windtraders, will have lots of Na’vi inspired items for guests to purchase. One of these items was announced today and it definitely sounds like something to have with you on Pandora!
Disney announced that the Na’vi Translator will teach guests how to pronounce 90 Na’vi words and it will light up, which will be helpful once night falls on Pandora. Another nice feature is the clasp that extends up to 12-inches and can be attached to a belt or backpack. That’s always a bonus when walking around the parks.
In addition to the 15 translation cards that will come with the translator, there will be other cards sold in trading packs. There will be eight randomly selected cards in each trading pack.
Here are the color codes for the cards:
- Blue – Nouns (common)
- Purple – Adjectives (common)
- Orange – Animals (less common)
- Aqua – Phrases (less common)
- Tan – Landscapes (less common)
- Green – Plants (rare)
- Yellow – Gear (rare)
One Na’vi word translated in the post from Disney Parks Blog is ‘Ikran’ which means ‘Banshee.’ Pretty cool!
The Na’vi Translator will be available in Windtraders this summer. No word on whether it will be available for purchase on the Shop Disney Parks App. It would be great if they made it available there, but this might be a park only item.
Something else that is not mentioned is the price of the translator. I don’t think it will be cheap, considering what you get, but we will keep you updated if we hear any pricing information.
This honestly sounds like a really fun souvenir to carry around the park and it would be a fun souvenir to have at home too. So excited for the opening of this section in Animal Kingdom!
