Epcot is my favorite park and a big reason for that is the World Showcase. For me, exploring all the country pavilions never gets old.
The Germany pavilion is designed to look like a German town. It’s fun to take a seat on one of the benches and look around at all the details on the buildings. Those details are what make it one of my favorite pavilions. It doesn’t hurt that the pavilion has some nice shops to wander around too.
Another favorite in the Germany Pavilion is Biergarten Restaurant. It is a buffet style restaurant with lots of good German food. My heritage is definitely mixed, but German is part of my heritage on both sides of the family. Because of that, I grew up with a lot of homemade German food from my grandmothers on both sides. Their food is hard to top, but we really enjoy the food at Biergarten. Plus, they have beer flights which is a favorite for my husband.
The tables are big, so you will most likely be sitting with people you have never met (unless you are traveling with a big party). I think that’s what makes our experience there so much fun. You are always meeting new people. There is plenty of seating; the place is huge. So while it’s best to make reservations in advance, this is one of the restaurants where you might actually be able to walk up and get a table.
The decorations around the restaurant add to the theme very well. It’s a pretty open restaurant, so it’s easy to look around and notice all the fun details.
They have some really fun entertainment too. There is a live band that will play while you enjoy your food and drink. The music is lively and it inspires you to have a good time while you are there. The first time we ate at Biergarten there were two little girls who went out on the dance floor and skipped around while the music played. It was so cute!
One of the band members also played some songs with bells, including “it’s a small world,” which everyone loved! Take a look at the video below and see how talented this guy is. So impressive!
Biergarten Entertainment
Biergarten also has items for those that may not enjoy German food as much and a station at the buffet for kids. Disney has the menu online, so you can look at it before you book.
Here’s a fun fact about Biergarten, there was originally supposed to be a boat ride in the pavilion, but it got dropped because of cost and lack of funding. After the ride was dropped Disney decided to use the ride entrance space for Biergarten Restaurant. Love those little fun Disney facts!
Have you ever been to Biergarten Restaurant?
