This week’s ears in the spotlight take us back ten years ago.
The ears in the picture were purchased in Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs) in 2007. The fact that they were purple and springy is what drew me to them. Plus, they are fun to wear.
The headband is purple (to match the Mickeys on the springs), it’s a hard plastic, and there are teeth on it to help keep it on your head. I’ll be honest, they’re not the most comfortable pair to wear, because the teeth on the headband can start to dig into your head, but they are definitely a cute pair.
Attached to the headband are two springs. The springs are a good length, so they are pretty bouncy, which is what makes them fun to wear.
On top of the springs are the Mickeys that bounce on the springs. The Mickeys are made out of styrofoam, so they are very light. They also have purple glitter on them and that makes them very sparkly.
I haven’t seen these in the parks recently, so these are more of a flashback pair of ears. Mickey ears are always changing and it’s interesting to see the changes over the years.
Do you have a favorite flashback pair of ears?
Thanks for reading!
