The opening of Toy Story Land is getting closer, so Disney is releasing more information about one of the rides. Disney has also addressed rumors that they are changing the name of Hollywood Studios.
We’ll start with the latest Toy Story Land concept art that Disney has shared. The art shows one of the new rides, Alien Swirling Saucers, and there is a good depiction of the ride vehicles. It shows the aliens pulling guests around an indoor area. In the middle of the ride area, guests will see an alien in the grips of the claw. Also, it looks like there are either windows or open spaces around the ride area where other guests can view the ride. This looks like a fun ride and I’m excited to see it when the new land opens! Another announcement that Disney made today pertains to the Hollywood Studios names. Recently there have been quite a few rumors going around about a name change for the park. The most common rumor for a name change I heard was “Cinemagine Park.” I hadn’t heard anything definite though, which is why I did not post about it. It sounds like Disney was getting a lot of questions about the name change rumor and decided to address it. Here is what they said:
In response to questions we have been receiving, we also want to let fans know that the Disney’s Hollywood Studios name will remain the same for the foreseeable future since we are immersing our guests in a place where imagined worlds of Hollywood unfold around them from movies and music, to television and theater.
So there you have it, from Disney themselves. Who knows what the future holds, but for now Hollywood Studios will be keeping it’s name. Which is good, because I don’t know many people that were excited about “Cinemagine Park.” Names don’t matter too much though. I still hear people say MGM instead of Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney instead of Disney Springs. New name or not, I’m very excited to see Toy Story Land when it opens!
