We’ve all been waiting for it and finally we have an opening date for Toy Story Land!
Slinky Dog, Woody, Buzz, and Jessie appeared on Good Morning America this morning to help make the announcement. Toy Story Land will be opening June 30, 2018! This announcement has made many people happy, because the anticipation has been building for quite some time.
When Toy Story Land opens guests will be able to experience two new rides and a new quick service restaurant. The idea is that Andy has created this area with his toys in his backyard. With all the oversized decorations, guests will feel as though they have been shrunk to the size of a toy. It looks like a really cute addition to Hollywood Studios!
Toy Story Land Details
Slinky Dog Coaster
This coaster will take guests on a family friendly track that rides around a good portion of the new section. The ride vehicles are designed after Slinky Dog, so it looks like you are riding on Slinky’s back. The details on the ride vehicles are really good, down to Slinky’s tail springing back and forth during the ride.
Alien Swirling Saucers
In this experience guests will be lead around an indoor area by the aliens. Above the ride vehicles is the claw, just waiting to “choose” someone. From the concept art that was recently released, it looks like there are open area or windows where guests can look in and watch the ride.
Woody’s Lunch Box
This is the new quick service location that will serve American fare, old-fashioned soda floats, and Toy Story-themed specialties. The design of this is very cute. The idea behind it is that Andy used his own lunch box to create this walk-up window quick service location.
I am so excited for this land to open and so happy we finally have an opening date. My kids, like many, are big Toy Story fans and, to be honest, so are my husband and I. The movies are so cute and the original is a classic. It’s going to be fun to see these stories and characters given such attention!
What part of Toy Story Land are you most excited for?
Thanks for reading!

So excited this will be right when we are there! With the exact date now known, will the rides be available to pick for fast pass, at 60 days?
Hi Lisa!
That’s awesome! I haven’t heard anything definite, but I assume the rides will be available for FP selections at the 60 day mark. They might end up putting the rides on two different tiers though, so you would only be able to FP one of them, like they did with Pandora.
