Pixar has been known to hide “A113” in their movies. It has shown up in the Toy Story movies, Monsters Inc., WALL-E, and Finding Nemo, just to name a few.
Inside Out is no exception. While watching the movie with my family, we happened to pause it at just the right scene and found “A113.” It showed up in scene 24 where Riley is running away. It’s graffiti on one of the building walls she passes by on her way to the bus. Look to the left of her head.
What is the significance of “A113?” According to The Huffington Post, it’s a classroom where many of the Pixar and Disney animators took their first graphic design class. So it’s a nod to those who passed through that classroom and to the beginning of their careers as animators. Pretty cool.
