More and more reopening dates have been announced by Disney over the past month or so. The most recent announcement is a reopening date for Animal Kingdom Lodge.
On August 26 Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will officially reopen. This is a fun resort with animals, like giraffes, wandering the grounds. If guests want to be able to see the animals from their room they can book a Savanna View room and then all it takes is a step on the balcony to see the animals wandering the area. For those that decide to stay in any other room type there are windows in the hallways and observation areas where the animals will be visible.
My family and I stayed at Kidani Village one year and we were in a Standard View room. We couldn’t see animals from the room, but there was a huge window in the hallway by our door, so we saw the animals the second we stepped out of our room. The observation areas had some great views of the animals too, so don’t worry if you don’t end up in a Savanna View room, there are plenty of other viewing opportunities.
In addition to the animals, there are some great dining opportunities at both Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village. Our favorite is Boma – Flavors of Africa, which is still closed. Since there is now an opening date for Animal Kingdom Lodge I’m hopeful that we’ll get a reopening date for Boma soon. Fingers crossed!
Bookings for Animal Kingdom Lodge are open today for reservations August 26 and beyond. Reservations can be made online or by calling Disney directly.
