As we get closer to the opening date of Pandora – The World of Avatar Disney is releasing more information. Today was a big step towards the opening of the new land.
Those who are traveling May 27 and beyond will be happy to know that FastPasses are now available for the attractions in Pandora – The World of Avatar. The two attractions are Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. They will open with the rest of the section on May 27.
Since these attractions are going to be very popular, Disney has created Experience Groups for Animal Kingdom. This is how the FastPass system is setup for Epcot and Hollywood Studios. So with the tiered system guests can choose one experience from one group and two from the other group. The new attractions will be in one group, which means choosing between Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey.
Disney does it this way, because then more people will have a chance to experience one of the new attractions. The standby wait times are sure to be long, but at least guests will have a chance to bypass one of the long lines.
The new land looks amazing and I cannot wait to see it in person! Even if you don’t get FastPasses, just walking around in this new section will be worth it. Check out the video below from ABC where James Cameron takes them around Pandora.
