Over the past five years that Disney has offered the MagicBands with Disney World Resort hotel packages they have added different color options. However, the options have always been solid colors, but that’s about to change.
Disney announced that coming soon guests who book at Walt Disney World Resort hotel package will be able to upgrade their MagicBand. The solid colors that come with the package are included, but if you decide to upgrade then the cost is $10 per MagicBand. It may seem like a lot, since the solid colors are free, but that’s basically a $15 savings from what the MagicBands cost when purchased separately.
There will be more than 30 different designs for guests to choose from, if they decide to upgrade their band. These bands feature favorite Disney characters and designs, which you can see in the video below.
As long as the MagicBands are ordered 11 or more days before your arrival day then the MagicBands will be shipped to your house. If they are ordered 10 days or closer to your arrival date then they will be delivered to your Disney World hotel. The free solid color MagicBands are still available for those that do not wish to pay for the upgrade.

Absolutely would order the upgraded MagicBand. Seems like a reasonable option at a reasonable price. Love it.

I’m not sure when it’s taking affect, Disney didn’t say. I’m hoping sooner rather than later. I have a reservation later this year, so I’m going to keep checking to see when the option appears.
