This colorful festival takes place every year in the spring at Epcot. For the 2020 season guests will be able to enjoy this festival for a few months.
It will take place from March 4 – June 1, 2019 this year, giving guests 90 days to enjoy the flowers, gardens, and everything else that comes along with this festival. In addition to the flowers and gardens, the Outdoor Kitchens will offer creative dishes and drinks for purchase. Plus, guests can check out the Garden Rocks Concert Series for free while enjoying Epcot.
Throughout the park are impressive topiaries and a lot of those are Disney characters. These topiaries are great photo opportunities and it’s fun to walk around and see how many you can come across. Topiaries are placed from the front of the park all the way back to the World Showcase, so there are quite a lot to see.
Character Topiaries Include
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
- Elsa and Anna
- Winnie the Pooh
- Tigger
- Piglet
- Belle and Beast
- Mickey Mouse
- Minnie Mouse
- Miss Piggy and Kermit
I love the mini-gardens that Disney floats in the Future World east and west lakes. These mini-gardens are so bright and colorful, and they are a great backdrop for pictures. Also along the lakes are the flowers planted in different shapes, like butterflies, Mickey Mouse, or stars, which enhances the pictures as well.
The festival isn’t just for adults, kids will like it too! You can bring the kiddos to the festival’s Play Garden and Family Play Zone where they can run around and play. They’ll also enjoy the Goodness Garden Butterfly House.
The Epcot Flower & Garden Festival has grown over the years since it started in 1994, which means this year is its 27th year. It also makes it Epcot’s longest running festival.
Have you been to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival?

We get to see it every year on our annual trip at the end of April/first of May. We love all the extra decorations. It makes for great picture opportunities! It wasnt advertised last year but we stumbled upon a special Minnie meet and greet last year dressed for the festival. It was in the building between Mexico and Test Track (Odyssey I think).
