Star Wars is certainly making its presence known around Disney World, especially in Hollywood Studios. So much so, that a land dedicated to Star Wars is being planned. Disney has now added to that with an announcement that came out today.
According to Disney Parks Blog, a new stage show is being planned for Hollywood Studios and will have some popular Star Wars characters in it. The show is called “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” and guests will be able to see Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vadar, and Darth Maul on stage performing moments from the Star Wars movies. This new show will begin on April 4.
Also planned to start on April 4 is a march of Stormtroopers from Star Wars Launch Bay to Center Stage throughout the day. Leading the march is Captain Phasma.
The biggest news, regarding these additions, is the new fireworks show that is being planned. It’s called “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” and will include fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects, and video projections. The video projections will be on the Chinese Theater and other nearby buildings. So guests will be able to see characters and landscapes from the famous movies as the fireworks are set off in the background. The really cool part, though, will be the lightsabers made of fire and spotlight beams. That is going to be pretty awesome to see in person. Guests can look for the new fireworks show beginning in summer 2016.
Disney has been adding quite of bit of Star Wars attractions and experiences to Hollywood Studios, but the park needed it. The shows sound like they are going to be pretty fun and entertaining. People already love the Star Wars additions that have already been put in place in the park. I imagine the fireworks show is going to be a pretty popular show once it begins. Let’s hope that is one of the shows that Disney will stream live on their website!
