The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival has been starting earlier and earlier each year. It’s a very popular event at Disney World and this year it’s starting earlier than ever.
Today Disney announced that the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will begin on July 15 and will wrap up on November 20. In the past, the event has started in August, so this is by far the earliest start date announced for Food & Wine. Given it’s popularity it’s not surprising that Disney is starting earlier.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival brings lots of tasty treats to Epcot. Food stands that highlight different countries around the world are set up around World Showcase Lagoon and each will have a few different food and drink items to choose from. The portions are usually snack size and a lot of people will share the food so they have room to try more items. My husband and I use the sharing strategy and it definitely allows me to try more things before feeling full. There are so many delicious sounding items at this festival, so it’s easy to have an “eyes are bigger than my stomach” situation.
Speaking of the food stands, free booklets that list all the stands are available throughout Epcot. If you’re planning to spend the day checking out the different stands then this is a good thing to pick up, because you can check off items as you go. The booklet is also a nice souvenir to look at when you’re remembering your vacation. The booklets also serve as a good reminder of the items you really liked and would like to try again if you go to the festival another year.
Disney hasn’t announced what stands will be at the festival this year, but you can bet there will be a good selection. Even when it was tailored back a bit last year there were still plenty of options to choose from. One thing Disney mentioned is Emile’s Fromage, where guests will be able to sample lots of delicious cheeses served in different and fun ways.
Some Things to Look Forward to at the Festival
- Collecting stamps at five different Global Marketplaces for a prize.
- Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak is back! This sends guests on a scavenger hunt looking for different Remy statuettes hidden around the park.
- There are always fun Epcot International Food & Wine Festival souvenirs to look at and purchase.
- Musical Acts
- Voices of Liberty
- Mariachi Cobre
- Jammin’ Chefs
It’s always exciting when Disney announces dates for Food & Wine! Who else is excited to go this year?
