If you are visiting Disney World between June 10 and September 9 this year you will be able to try some specialty items celebrating the 30th anniversary of ‘The Lion King.’ The items below will all be available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Starting with Discovery Island, guests will find The Simba at Eight Spoon Cafe. This drink is a mango-flavored slushy combined with grenadine and topped with two gummy candies. Then head over to Isle of Java of the Timon’s Luau dessert, which is vanilla chiffon, passion fruit curd, guava jam, vanilla chantilly cream, an edible tropical flower, and mint.
Tiffins Restaurant will also have some special items for guests. Rafiki’s Squash Banana is a shake with bananas, baobab fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, and cardamom. Also at Tiffins guests will find the “Remember Who You Are” dessert, which is a coffee mousse filled with caramelized bananas, chai chantilly, banana-caramel sauce, chocolate-coffee crumble, a chocolate decoration, and a sugar sun.
While visiting the Africa section of Animal Kingdom guests can get the Zazu Ice Cream Sandwich at Tamu Tamu Refreshments. This sweet treat is vanilla ice cream in between two blue cake-coated sugar cookies with a chocolate Zazu medallion on top. Over at Harambe Market is the You Follow Old Rafiki Cheesecake. This dessert is a passion fruit-mango cheesecake with coconut-lime crust, vanilla bean chantilly, and a chocolate Rafiki medallion.
Even DinoLand U.S.A. is getting in on the fun. with the Shenzi Strawberry Lemonade available at Restaurantsaurus. This drink is a combination of Minute Maid Lemonade, Minute Maid Strawberry Smoothie, and blue curaçao syrup. A souvenir glow cube also comes with the drink.
Back over in Discovery Island guests will find the Rightful Ruler Cupcake at Pizzafari. This dessert is a red velvet cake with cookies ‘n cream cheesecake filling and chocolate icing topped with a chocolate Simba medallion on chocolate rocks.
A delicious sounding Dole Whip will be available at Trilo-bites during this celebration. The Zazu Dole Whip Lime and Coconut Float has swirls of Dole Whip Lime into Sprite, coconut and blue curaçao syrup, and topped with a chocolate Zazu medallion.
One item that will be available at multiple food cart locations in Animal Kingdom is the Simba Paw Cookie. This cookie looks almost too adorable to eat … almost. It’s a sugar cookie with icing to make it look like Simba’s paw. So cute!
