Disney recently announced that they were closing their parks until further notice. After doing that they have been actively helping the community by donating food and supplies.
The latest donation is something that medical professionals in the country are in need of and are grateful to receive. Disney Parks has donated 150,ooo rain ponchos to MedShare, which is a humanitarian organization that will distribute the ponchos to hospitals in need. The ponchos can help protect clothes and prolong the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In addition to the ponchos, Disney Parks also donated more than 100,000 N95 masks to New York, California, and Florida.
These donations will help to protect medical professionals who are taking care of patients with COVID-19. It’s great to see Disney donating items that are so greatly needed at so many hospitals, because as many have said these are the people on the front lines of fighting the disease (as are the EMT workers) and we should be doing everything to make sure they are protected. Disney said it will continue to find additional ways to give back.
It’s a scary time and I just want to say thank you to everyone is working to help people fight this virus. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, EMTs, scientists, police, fire fighters, pharmacy workers, grocery store workers, and everyone else who is still going in to work providing care or services that the public needs. We owe you all a debt of gratitude.
Thanks for reading!
