UPDATE: The reopening plan has been approved by the Orange County Recovery Task Force! It now moves on to get approval from the governor.
During the Orange County Recovery Task Force meeting Disney World proposed a reopening plan. Of course, the focus is on opening safely when doing so, but the big news is the proposed reopening date.
Disney World’s target opening is a phased reopening, but with certain safety measures in place. If these opening dates are approved by the Orange County Recovery Task Force the will then be sent to the governor for approval. I will follow up with another, more detailed post, that covers the safety measures being taken.
Proposed Reopening Dates
- Magic Kingdom: July 11
- Animal Kingdom: July 11
- Epcot: July 15
- Hollywood Studios: July 15
Disney World has been closed since mid-March, so this news is welcome by many fans of the parks. Disney opened some of Disney Springs recently and guests have been visiting the reopened restaurants and shops. Even if everything isn’t open, it’s good to see some parts of Disney Springs welcoming back guests.
As for the parks, there has been much speculation as to when Disney World would be reopening the parks and the hotels. At first it was thought they would open on June 1, but then Disney started cancelling reservations for guests that are booked at the beginning of June. So, it’s good to know there are at least proposed dates for the reopening.
Are you excited to see a proposed reopening date?
Thanks for reading!
