More good news out of Hollywood Studios today. Not only will Smugglers Run be offering FastPasses beginning on February 19, but the FastPass tiers for the park will be changing as well.
When the tiers changed a little while back guests were not happy, because it put most of the popular rides all on the first tier that only allowed guests to pick one from the list. Well, beginning on February 19 Disney is changing that. Now the only two rides that will be on the first tier will be Smugglers Run and Slinky Dog Dash. So that leaves Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror on the second tier where guests can pick two attractions from the list.
Screen shots from Disney’s website show that Smugglers Run and Slinky Dog Dash are the only two rides on the first tier. So guests will only be able to pick one from this list.
The following rides/shows are on the second tier, which allows guests to pick two from the list.

That’s great news! I can set fast passes on March 3rd for our May trip. I’ll need to plan 2 days so I can try to get one each day. We missed out on slinky last April due to long lines so we really want to try it. I have dreamed of flying the Millennium Falcon my whole life though so that is a must!
We will be there in May also. I wonder where Mickey’s runaway railroad will fall into the system. Perhaps it will have boarding passes like Rise of the resistance. Happy planning!
I’m curious too! I’ll be in Disney for the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, so I’m interested to see if FastPasses will be available at that point.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a lot of fun, especially for Star Wars fans. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge Star Wars fan (gasp, I know), but I have seen the movies, and I was in awe of the entire land. The Imagineers really outdid themselves with the details. When you ride Smugglers Run make sure to sit on the right side pilot seat, because that’s the seat that gets to pull the lever for hyperspace. It’s pretty cool.
Hello, we are traveling in March for port Orleans. Already reserved all of our fast passes for Hollywood studios. Does this mean I can modify/cancel in preparation for new fast pass arrangement? Gotta be honest…didn’t score great.

Yes, you should be able to change around your FastPasses with the new tiers. Glad they changed in time for your trip!
I am so happy! My family is going in March and we were able to get all three Toy Story Rides and Smuggler’s Run for the days we will be there!
