This week’s featured photo brings us to Coronado Springs.
During my last visit to Disney World I stayed at a resort that I had never visited. The pictures on Disney’s website made it look like a nice resort and it’s always fun to experience something new, so I booked Coronado Springs, one of Disney’s Moderate Resort Hotels.
The resort is themed after Spanish Colonial Mexico. The grounds reflect the theme and it’s relaxing to wander around and take it all in. One thing I really liked about this resort are all the fountains they have. There is a beautiful one in the lobby and more can be found throughout the landscape.
My favorite fountain was actually not far from my room in Casitas Building 3. It’s a long fountain with lions on either side spouting water into the fountain. During the day it’s nice to look at, but at night it is lit up and is really pretty. Each night when I returned to the resort I loved walking by that fountain. Not only is it pretty to look at, but the noise of the water is relaxing. When you walk by on a quiet night the only thing you can hear is the water running into the fountain. It’s a peaceful way to help end a busy Disney day.
I’ll do a full review of my experience at Coronado Springs, but if you get the chance to stop by this resort definitely take a walk around to see the grounds. It’s always fun to explore a Disney Resort Hotel that you haven’t seen before.
Have you ever been to Coronado Springs?
Thanks for reading!

We had booked at Coronado Springs for our last Disney vacation as the pictures online look so neat, especially the pool area! We switched back to Port Orleans a couple of months prior to our trip, however, when we realized Coronado Springs rooms only have one sink, versus the two sinks we have become accustomed to at the Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Resorts. With a family of 4, including 2 daughters (ages 20 & 13), 2 sinks are a must for getting us all to the parks by rope drop. I wonder why Disney changed that up for this moderate? I would love to stay at Coronado Springs at some point, but at this time it’s not a good fit for our family.
Hi Lisa!
I’m hoping they will add a second sink with the refurb that is currently happening. I’ll be honest, while I loved the theme and the grounds, I was very disappointed with the room. Hoping the refurb changes that.
I hope so too! Your honesty is appreciated!
Thanks Lisa!
We heard there was a lot of construction going on there currently, we were looking on the website to book this fall and can’t find a room there, did they take a lot of rooms out of inventory that you know of?
Our family is staying at Coronado Springs beginning Friday, 6/30. My first visit ever. Can’t wait. Thanks for the fountain photo. Not planning to spend much time in the room so long as the bed is comfy and ac is cold, we’re good.
Hi Suzanne!
I hope you enjoy Coronado Springs! I liked it there, the room I stayed in was one of the older ones, but it was just me so I didn’t bother moving. I’ve heard some of the rooms are done with the refurb, so maybe you’ll get one of those. 🙂 The grounds are beautiful and the pool area is pretty fun. I recommend taking a stroll around the grounds, it’s nice and relaxing. I hope you have a magical time!!
Hi Liz! I found it interesting that you commented on this resort. We are arriving at WDW in August and have plans to stay at Wilderness
Lodge, we wanted to adjust our plans and Coronado happened to be available. I was so happy to see your post seeing as I have never stay there and altho it is only for one night I am so excited! Thanks for making it even more exciting!
Hi Christine!
You’re very welcome! I hope you have time to walk around and check out the grounds at Coronado Springs. Also, they’ve refurbed some of the rooms, so you can ask at checkin if there are any refurbed rooms available. I hope you have a magical time!
