This week’s featured photo brings us to the Magic Kingdom in the Fairytale Garden.
During my most recent trip to Disney World I decided to visit some of the princesses and have them record messages for my daughter. It was a solo trip (business) and I knew my daughter would love to see the princesses saying hi to her.
After the Welcome Show I headed over to see Merida. Her meet and greet is in the Fairytale Garden, which is right over the bridge to Fantasyland and across from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. The app said that she would be meeting people starting at 9:15 am, but her sign said 9:30 am. She started meeting people somewhere in between those times.
I was one of the first people in line and ended up talking to a family ahead of me. The mom said she was told by a cast member at Ariel’s Grotto that this is a very popular meet and greet, so it’s good to get on line as early as you can. So there’s a little tip for you, if you want to see Merida make that your first stop in the morning. Apparently the line gets long and stays long all day.
The actual meet and greet was great. Merida recorded a really sweet message for my daughter and then asked if we should take a picture too. It was such a fun meet and greet, I highly recommend adding Merida to your meet and greet list.
Her area was themed fantastic too. You are surrounded with stone, so you feel as if you are meeting her in her castle. Of course, there is an archery target set up, but there are also nice tapestries hanging on the stone walls. The description of her meet and greet says that you can color your own tapestry of Merida and her horse, Angus, which I’m sure is lots of fun for the kids.
All and all this is a meet and greet that I would definitely wait in line for with the kids. The theming is great, there are fun things for the kids to do, and Merida is fun to talk to!
Have you ever met Merida?
Thanks for reading!
