Disney World has lots of great food. There are some really good signature dining restaurants like California Grill and the Yachtsman Steakhouse and some good quick service options at the hotels and parks, but sometimes all you are looking for is a good snack.
I had heard quite a lot about the School Bread from the Norway pavilion, but never had it before. So I decided that this was trip where I would finally try it and I’m glad I did. Usually when something gets hyped a lot it doesn’t live up to all the hype, but (for me) this did. By the end of the trip I had about three or four of them (we were there for 12 days). In fact, a very good friend recently traveled to Disney and I was tempted to ask her to bring me one back.
Where to Find it
The School Bread is available at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway pavilion. The bakery has lots to choose from and they have a display case of the food to help you make your decision. Once you place your order you make your way to the cashier. There is a patio through the door after the cash registers where you can sit and enjoy your treat(s).
The School Bread
It is a round piece of bread that has sweet custard in it and on the top. It also has toasted coconut on top. The bread has a sweet taste to it too. Some people like to use a fork to eat it, but it is perfectly acceptable to just rip into it and enjoy.
So the next time you are wandering around the World Showcase looking for something good to eat, head to Norway. Try this popular treat. It has made it on my list of “must haves” for every trip to Disney from now on. Yeah, I thought it was that good.
Have you tried School Bread?
