The past couple of days people in Central Florida have been preparing for Hurricane Matthew. Though Disney World may give you the feeling of being in a bubble while you are there, it is not immune to Mother Nature.
On Disney World’s website there is an announcement say that the resort will operate on a normal schedule for now and that they are monitoring the storm. In this same announcement Disney said they are canceling the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for tonight.
While this can be very disappointing to those that were going to attend the party tonight, it’s definitely in everyone’s best interest to cancel the party. If you have tickets for the party tonight I would give Disney a call, as I am sure they are trying to help guests.
Guests staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground were told to evacuate and head west to Tampa, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
If you are an area in Florida that is in the path of Hurricane Matthew, we are keeping you in our thoughts. If you are in Disney World on vacation, please listen to instructions concerning the hurricane. Stay safe!
We will keep you updated of any hurricane related news released from Disney.
