I have wanted to try a Lapu Lapu for a while. Ever since I saw a picture of the pineapple drink, it has been on my list of drinks to try in Disney World.
The frozen Grand Marnier slushy from the France Pavilion in Epcot was the previous favorite. I still love that drink, and will get one anytime we visit Epcot, but it has been dethroned as my favorite. Though it may not be my favorite, it’s still at the top of the list. So, I do recommend the frozen slushy drinks in Epcot when you are visiting, they are very good.
The reason the Lapu Lapu is now my favorite is because it was delicious and it’s served in a pineapple. Being served in a pineapple is a big bonus, it makes you feel like you are somewhere on a beach enjoying a tropical drink. The drink costs $14.00. The price isn’t totally outrageous, given that you are in Disney World. I felt like there was a decent amount of the drink in the pineapple and didn’t feel cheated.
The Lapu Lapu is a mix of Myer’s Original Dark Rum, tropical fruit juices, and then it’s topped with Gosling’s 151 Rum. You put the first two ingredients in the pineapple and then top it with the second rum. It doesn’t sound hard to make at all, the only tricky thing is getting the measurements right, since those aren’t on Disney’s website. I plan on making one of these at home and will let you know how it turns out.
There are a few different locations at the Polynesian Village Resort where you can get a Lapu Lapu. Find this delicious pineapple drink at ‘Ohana, Kona Cafe, and Tambu Lounge. I ordered mine when we had dinner at ‘Ohana. It complimented the meal nicely.
Have you ever had the Lapu Lapu? What’s your favorite Disney drink?

Yes, I agree!! I had the Lapu Lapu drink at the Polynesian Village Resort when I was there in October and it was delicious!!
It’s so good 🙂 I need to perfect the recipe at home so we can have them whenever we want. That’s a good reward after a long week. Lol
Sounds like I will also be trying that at O’hana in May!! Wish there was some pineapple to eat in there!
Hi Holi!
‘Ohana is so good! They take a good amount of the pineapple out for the drink, but you can definitely taste the pineapple juices mixed in. It’s so yummy!
Omg. I love that drink. Had it for the first time in 2015 after years of eyeballing the pineapple drink of wonders. It was fabulous! I still really like the frozen margaritas at Epcot though. 😉
LOL! I had eyeballed it too, Kim. Glad we both finally got to try it 🙂
