During my last visit to Disney World I made sure to make time to stop in the Epcot’s newest restaurant, the Regal Eagle Smokehouse. As it’s name suggests, the theme of the restaurant is BBQ and Sam Eagle (from the Muppets) also is featured at the restaurant.
The Look
I enjoy BBQ so I was excited to try this place. The pictures of the food looked really good and the decor looked fun too. When you first approached the restaurant you will notice a set of stairs with the restaurant’s name above them. It’s a nice entrance to the outdoor dining area, which includes an outdoor bar and a display with a meat smoker in the middle of the patio. The display has a lot of detail to it, which adds to the theme of the restaurant.
Stepping inside the restaurant you are greeted with high ceilings and banners of red, white, and blue, draped across the dining hall. Different size tables are available for guests to choose from and there is a roll of paper towels in the middle of each table. The paper towels are your napkins, which is helpful when you are eating messy bbq. There are some padded bench seats along the wall, but most of the seating are wooden benches that can seat multiple people on each side.
There are lots of decorations on the walls and even behind the counter where you get your food. In the area where you order your food there is an old kitchen stove, a hutch with pictures, canisters, and bowls, as well as shelves with the same time of decorations as the hutch. There are also posters hanging up that look like old style advertisements. Looking back at some pictures from when the restaurant was the Liberty Inn it looks like some of the same decorations were there as well, which makes sense because the theming was similar. However, the fountain that was in the middle of the dining area is no longer there.
The Food
My friend tried the food a week or so before I arrived. She sent me pictures the night she ate there everything they ordered looked really good. They gave it all good reviews, so I was excited to try the BBQ for myself. The menu has a variety of items, but I settled on the brisket sandwich and I was not disappointed. There was a generous amount of meat stacked in between two pieces of garlic toast. You definitely won’t leave hungry with the amount of food they give you!
With the sandwich comes your choice of side. For my side I decided to try the macaroni & cheese. This was really good too! The cheese was thick and creamy, so it’s a pretty filling side.
As if the sandwich and mac & cheese weren’t enough, I decided to try one of the desserts. I went with the banana pudding. This dessert held true to its name, so if you don’t like bananas this dessert is not for you. It wasn’t just a flavoring of bananas, there was a strong banana taste. It was topped with two Nilla wafer cookies and layered with them, as well.
All in all I was very pleased with the food here and will definitely be back!

My experience at the Regal Eagle Smokehouse was very nice. The decor was fun to look at and the food was delicious. Once the parks reopen this restaurant is on my list for an Epcot day for sure. So, if you’re looking for some BBQ while exploring the World Showcase then give this new quick service restaurant a try!
Were you able to try Regal Eagle Smokehouse before the parks closed?
