When Disney World reopened, the number of dining options available were limited. Slowly, but surely, more options are becoming available.
Two popular dining options are set to open their doors again at the end of this month. In Hollywood Studios guests will again be able to see Minnie and friends at Hollywood & Vine. Then over at Magic Kingdom guests will be able to once again dine in Cinderella castle, which is an experience that has been missed by many.
Hollywood & Vine Reopening
There will be some differences when this restaurant opens again on September 25, but the characters will still be in fun costumes, so that’s good. Food will no longer be available in a buffet style, instead it will be served family style where a variety of food is brought to your table to share. This is an approach Disney is taking at all their former buffet restaurants that have reopened, like Chef Mickey’s.
The characters will still be greeting guests in fun costumes, which is one of the draws of this restaurant. However, just like Topolino’s Terrace, they will not be coming to the tables. Instead they will parade through the restaurant, waving to guests and stopping for distanced pictures. So guests can still get some selfies will the characters as they pass by. When the restaurant opens on the 25th the characters will be in their Halloween attire and the restaurant will be decorated with fun Halloween decor.
Cinderella’s Royal Table Reopening
In Magic Kingdom, guests will be able to dine in the castle beginning on September 24. This is always a popular dining experience because of the location and the characters. Guests will still be able to choose their meal off of the menu, which offers a variety of choices. There is one big change to this restaurant though. For the time being, the princesses will be taking a break from meeting guests, so keep that in mind if you plan to book this for your vacation.
Quick-Service Options Opening Soon
In addition to the two table-service options mentioned above, there are also two quick-service locations that will be opening soon. In fact, one of them is opening today! Gaston’s Tavern will welcome guests back today in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. With the reopening comes a new menu item ( don’t worry the huge cinnamon roll is still on the menu 🙂 ). The Master’s Cupcake, which is also available at Be Our Guest Restaurant, is now available at Gaston’s Tavern. The cupcake is topped with the “Grey Stuff,” which is why it is a popular dessert item to get at Be Our Guest.
The second quick-service location opening soon is the ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios. This restaurant will be opening for walk-in lunch service beginning October 8. You can find the ABC Commissary on Commissary Lane next to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant.
