This week’s ears in the spotlight are designed after everyone’s favorite huggable robot.
Big Hero 6 is a favorite Disney movie in our house and a big part of that is because of Baymax. He is the lovable (and huggable) care giving robot that Hiro’s brother Tadashi built. It’s hard not to love the Baymax character, he just wants everyone to be healthy and safe (“On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate your pain?”).
These ears are simple, but still very cute. The hat is made of felt, so it is very soft, just like Baymax. Also on the hat are Baymax’s eyes. So there are two black circles connected by a single straight line, which is how his eyes look in the movie. Another feature on the hat are symbols on the side under one of the ears. In addition, there is a chin strap attached to each side of the hat to help keep it on your head.
The ears are made of a thin plastic, so I would be careful with how you store this hat. The ears together spell out the phrase that Baymax says when he and Hiro fist bump (Balalalala). One ear says “BA LA” and the other ear says “LA LA LA.” It’s a pretty cute feature on the hat.
