I love that Disney offers the Memory Maker. It gives you the opportunity to have your picture taken by the PhotoPass Photographers as much as you want for one price. In addition to regular pictures, the photographers also take Magic Shots.
What is a Magic Shot? It’s a picture with a little Disney magic added. For instance, in front of Cinderella Castle there is a Magic Shot available where it looks like you are holding Tinker Bell in your hands and there is one in front of the Beast’s castle where you are holding Chip. They’re such cute pictures!
In addition to the Magic Shots, Disney also has animated Magic Shots. These pictures will have some of Disney’s popular animated characters make an appearance in the pictures. There are a bunch of locations where you can get an animated shot with Tinker Bell sprinkling some pixie dust on everyone in the picture. They’re fun to watch.
Now, according to Disney Parks Blog, Disney has added another animated Magic Shot in Magic Kingdom. When guests get their picture taken on the Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin ride not only will they get the attraction picture, they will also get an animated Magic Shot with Buzz and the three aliens.

Just make sure to wear your MagicBand if you want these pictures. Anytime you have Memory Maker or you plan on purchasing some of the ride pictures you should wear the MagicBand, because it is linked to your account and it will load pretty quick. You will be able to see the pictures in your My Disney Experience account.
We took so many pictures with the PhotoPass Photographers during our last trip. Anytime we saw a photographer we hopped in line to have our picture taken, plus we had the ride pictures, ride videos (Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tower of Terror), and we made sure to ask the photographers about Magic Shots.
That’s a tip to keep in mind. Make sure to ask the photographers about Magic Shots. Sometimes they will automatically do it and other times you need to ask. So if they don’t have you do a specific pose for a Magic Shot don’t be shy about asking.
For my family the Memory Maker was completely worth it. We have so many great family pictures and a lot of fun Magic Shot pictures. We love going through the photo album and taking a trip back to our time in Disney.
Have you taken some Magic Shot pictures in Disney World?
Thanks for reading!
