New Character Meet and Greets Coming to Hollywood Studios

There has been a lot going on at Hollywood Studios. With the exciting news of lands dedicated to Toy Story and Star Wars planned for the park also came the news of closings, a good amount of closings. One of the biggest upsets was the fact that the Osborne Lights would not be returning. Disney has just made another announcement regarding Hollywood Studios and it’s good news.

Hollywood Studios has become a park where people think of it as a half-day kind of park. It doesn’t have as many rides or character experiences as other parks and that is why they are planning such a big expansion for the park. Of course, there are going to be some closings to make way for the expansions and some of those closings have upset people, but hopefully the latest announcement will help.

According to Disney Parks Blog, there will be some new character meet and greets coming to Hollywood Studios. This is definitely good news, because, as I said above, Hollywood Studios doesn’t have as many character experiences as some of the other parks.

One of the meet and greets will be with Mickey and Minnie. First guests can meet Minnie, all decked out in her Hollywood attire on the red carpet. Then they can meet Mickey in his Fantasia attire. You will be able to find them by the Sci Fi Dine-In Theater. The meet and greet with Minnie makes sense and goes right along with her dinner parties at Minnie’s Seasonal Dine that happens at Hollywood and Vine.

The second meet and greet is ones that fans of Frozen will be very excited for. No, it’s not Anna and Elsa, but it is an equally popular character. Coming soon to the Echo Lake area guests will be able to meet the lovable snowman Olaf. After you meet Olaf you can head over to the Hyperion Theater and see For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.

So even though a lot of things may be closing, Disney is still giving us reasons to visit Hollywood Studios. These new meet and greets, along with the other shows and attractions give guests reasons to give Hollywood Studios a chance on their next trip. Plus, there are the ever funny and entertaining Citizens of Hollywood, who are always worth the stop to watch perform.

The Mickey and Minnie, and Olaf meet and greets will start in spring 2016.
