Disney announced a couple of months ago that they would be rolling out the next generation of MagicBands. Some people have reported getting them in the mail for their upcoming trip, so it seems that Disney is starting to fully incorporate the new bands.
These new bands look a little different than the originals. The part on the band with the Mickey icon is a little bigger than the rest of the MagicBand, making it almost look like a watch. All the color choices are still available for the new bands.
Disney had released a couple of designs in the new style last month, but they had not been sent to people who had booked trips. In the past week we have heard from guests who have trips coming up and have received the new MagicBand style.

So if you have a trip coming up and have not received your MagicBands yet, you might be in luck and get some in the new style. Let us know in the comments if you get the new ones!

I am due to Disneyland Paris on 26th January. We have a special birthday whilst we are there. I wonder if we could possibly get these magicbands as a surprise for the birthday girl?

We received our magic bands yesterday for our upcoming February trip and we got the new ones.
Since we have the old ones from a past trip, I actually like the old ones better. But, I have a small wrist. The band is wider on the new ones and as you stated, around the much icon is bigger to make it look like a watch.
Sorry, I just like the old ones better.

I don’t think you are alone in preferring the thinner bands. It’s too bad they can’t give people the choice between the wider bands and the thinner bands.

Just received our magic bands for our WDW trip in 3 weeks. We have the new design. Cool!! Always such fun to go to WDW. We are going for the first time with a child. Our 5 year old granddaughters first time. My husband and I have been 5 times since 2009. It is the most relaxing fun place to vacation especially in winter when you live in NH.
