It’s official, we have an opening date! The ride that is replacing The Great Movie Ride will be opening at the beginning of March.
Disney announced today that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be opening on March 4, 2020 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The ride takes guests along for the ride when Mickey and Minnie decide to take a leisurely drive to a picnic. Goofy follows along in his train too, so you know things are not going to go as planned.
According to the ride description there are “unexpected twists, slapstick gags, and mind-boggling transformations at every turn, as Mickey and Minnie try to save the day.” This is the first ride to star Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, believe it or not. It’s nice that there will finally be a ride starring the mouse that started it all.

Hope to check it out this May. I just wish they used the classic animation and not the wierd looking new animation. But that’s just my opinion.
I’m with you, Doug. I’m excited for the ride, but I don’t really care for this animation style.
Liz I’m a little sad that the great movie ride was taken away because the younger generation might not know some of the great classics that were out there,Also I thought that was really the theme for the park. I understand change is good and I’ve been going to Disney World for over 42 years but I also believe certain things should be left as is /aka fountain at Epcot. Disney Dennis
