This year is already off to a good start for those traveling to Disney World after January 8. The limitations for visiting different theme parks that were put in place in 2020 are finally coming to an end.
Back in 2020, Disney was trying to keep track and limit the number of guests in the parks each day. To do this, they implemented a park pass system. This system had guests reserve days in the parks for each day of there ticket. Disney also limited guests Park Hopping abilities by limiting Park Hopping hours to 2pm and after. It’s been three years since these two rules were implemented and many guests have been looking forward to when they will end.
Good news, these two features Disney put in place will officially come to an end on January 9. That means if you are visiting parks through January 8 you will still need to reserve a park pass for each day of your ticket. You will also not be able to use the Park Hopper option until after 2pm through January 8. For those visiting parks on January 9 and beyond, you will not have to make park pass reservations (for date-based tickets) and will be able to park hop whenever you’d like (this includes Annual Passholders). This is welcome news, especially for those that like to split park days earlier than 2 pm. So it’s possible now to spend a couple of hours in the morning in one park and then hop to another for lunch, if you’d like.
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited to have a little flexibility back in the day. It may take some getting used to, since we’ve all become so used to having to make park pass reservations, but it’s going to be nice to get a little closer to what the park experience was like before 2020.
Are you happy to see these features going away in just over a week?
Thanks for reading!
