Today’s Picture of the Day takes us to the lobby of the Grand Floridian.
It’s no secret that Disney World is a magical place, but during the holidays the magic is amplified. The huge Christmas trees and all the decorations are so festive. One of the coolest decorations is the gingerbread house in the lobby of the Grand Floridian.
After Halloween, Disney starts adding the gingerbread displays to the deluxe resort hotel lobbies one by one. We were lucky to see a few of them during the last trip and I can tell you that the lobbies smell amazing with these gingerbread displays.
The gingerbread house is cool because it doubles as a retail location. On the other side of the house you will find cast members inside of it selling all things gingerbread. One of the fun items they sell are gingerbread shingles. My friend bought one of these to bring back to a family member who has bought the shingles in past years. She was happy to see they still sold them.
The gingerbread house fits in with the Grand Floridian lobby. The lobby is definitely “grand” and the style of the gingerbread house compliments the lobby nicely. It’s just another reason to visit Disney’s flagship resort and spend some time relaxing in the lobby.
If you are visiting Disney World anytime soon, definitely take the time to go around and visit the different gingerbread displays. They are really impressive to see in person. Plus, it’s fun to see the ingredients list for each display.
Have you ever seen any of the gingerbread displays in person?
Thanks for reading!

I have seen the displays and my wife and I are going to disney for week beginning on Monday…two days til Disney! We hope to stop and see a few of them this week.
Hope you and your wife have a magical time!! Enjoy seeing all the fun gingerbread displays. It’s such a great time to visit Disney 🙂
My husband is a tour bus driver and my granddaughter and I just found out we’ll be able to follow him down to WDW in a few days!
I’m so excited to be taking her on her first trip even though we don’t have much to spend with it being so last minute!
The Gingerbread house is something I have always dreamed of seeing. Blessings can be found in the smallest of things! Having so little will have us stepping back and taking time to enjoy all the little extras we miss while rushing to the parks!
Merry Christmas!
Hi Terry!
Spur of the moment Disney trips can be so much fun! Like you said, you won’t be rushing to the parks, so you will get to see all the amazing details at the resort hotels 🙂 Plus, you can visit Disney Springs (you don’t need a ticket for Disney Springs) and see the Christmas Tree trail and the holiday drone show they have over the water. There is so much to do outside of the parks, you don’t have to worry about missing any of the magic! So glad you will get to see the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. It really is a very impressive sight 🙂
If you are looking for tips of things to do outside of the parks you should come over and join the Main Street Wishes Facebook group. Lots of helpful people are in the group!
Merry Christmas to you too!
Went and saw the gingerbread house at the grand Floridian last week and bought a few gingerbread shingles.
Love the gingerbread house 🙂 Hope you had a magical vacation!
