This week’s Saturday Snackshot is a delicious salad found at Hollywood Studios.
The famous Cobb Salad can be ordered at The Hollywood Brown Derby, which is located in the Hollywood Boulevard area. The Hollywood Brown Derby is a replica of the restaurant of the same name from the golden era of Hollywood. That’s the feeling you get from the second you step inside the restaurant. The high and dramatic arches, big chandeliers, and celebrity caricatures are all fun features of the restaurant that make it feel like you are dining somewhere other than Disney World.
Supposedly, the Cobb Salad was created in 1937 by the owner of the Hollywood Brown Derby, Robert Howard Cobb. The story goes that he had not eaten and it was very late in the day, so he took a bunch of ingredients from the kitchen (including bacon cooked by the line cook), and mixed it with some French dressing. This was the start of the famous Cobb Salad, which is available to order at the Disney World location.
The salad in the picture was purchased at their outdoor lounge. This is an area that is first come, first served, so if you can’t get a seat in the restaurant it’s worth checking out the lounge.
Cobb Salad Ingredients
- Finely Chopped Greens
- Turkey Breast

The salad was served on a wooden platter with a spot carved out for the bowl to fit in to keep it steady. The also have the logo on the platter. I’ve always enjoyed Cobb Salad, so needless to say I loved this one. Everything in the salad was so finely chopped that it mixed together really well and each bite had a mix of flavors. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again!
